Testing on a diecast model

Besides the plastic scale model, we have tested installing the LED module in a diecast model. Before installation, you should consider if the diecast model has enough room to hold the required modules. On the other hand, it should not be large in size. It is not recommended to place a large metallic object on an induction device. So, it is a bit tricky to select the right subject, and this Tomy Chinchilla just fit our test.

Subject : Tomy Totoro

LED modules : LM-54Y (Yellow) x 3

Place the inductor bodies in an upright position.I didn't use glue to fix the inductor bodies; I just let the enamel wire to hold them in place.

Added another LED module for the ceiling light. Assemble the body back and it is done!

02 Summary

This is an easy and quick modification for this diecast Chinchilla. The modification was done in one hour. Make sure you have sanded the plastic thin enough so more light can pass through the eyes. On the other hand, this small diecast (~7 cm) working on an inductive base seems fine.
